Mr H: Worth a Try?

This past week, I tried a relatively new-to-the-Seaport district Chinese restaurant called Mr H. My friends and I had been eagerly anticipating this reservation to the point that we agreed to go at 9:30 on a Thursday night, confident the food was going to be worth the wait. Once we were seated we immediately knew what needed to be done. First, we started with spicy cucumbers and chicken fingers and completely devoured both. Next up were the soup dumplings and pork dumplings, which were surprisingly flavorful and filling. I didn't have to glance at the menu after that, trusting my friends to navigate the tough decisions for the next round. They decided on the pork belly buns. Honestly, I expected to dislike them, yet to my surprise, they became my favorite dish of the evening (aside from the spicy cucumbers). The balance between comfort and creativity is spot-on, whether you’re enjoying a filling main course or sampling a selection of sides, and the enjoyment and liveliness of the restaurant is impeccable.

From my experience, what truly sets Mr H apart was how effortless everything felt. The dishes were adventurous yet familiar, so you’re never overwhelmed yet always intrigued. Ordering food at a restaurant like this can sometimes be confusing, how to decide the perfect combination of dishes can take up more time than the meal itself. So, being able to sit back and enjoy each course that was brought out made the experience extremely enjoyable. Each dish had its own vibe, but all of them left me satisfied. By the end, it's easy to feel like you’ve savored the full experience. Without a doubt, Mr H is worth a try.
